Janelle Erlichman Diamond grew up in Frederick, Maryland back when it was more cows than Starbucks. Her work has appeared in Lucky magazine and the Washington Post. During her eight years at the Post, she worked alongside Pulitzer Prize winning fashion reporter Robin Givhan, co-wrote the party column Out & About and created two shopping columns that ran weekly in the Style and Sunday source sections. Currently, she is the Lifestyle and Fashion Editor at Baltimore magazine and Baltimore Bride. She lives in Canton with her husband, two kids and big dog Finley.

    My heart was won by eggplant parmesan.

    On our second date the short, dark, and handsome guy I had been set up with on a blind date invited me to his place for dinner. It was clearly a bachelor pad. He slept on a futon, the nicest thing in the place was the TV, and I had to bring the wine—and the corkscrew. But he cooked. The first guy to do that for me.     What is love? Love is heart shaped toast. Love is a baby’s belly laugh. Love is forgiveness. Love is early-morning snuggles. Love is the smell of a baby. Love is dancing in the bathroom after your toddler pees on the potty. Love is hearing your kid spell his name for the first time. Love is watching your baby look up to her big brother.
