Cooking | Chocolate Chip Pie

I don’t know if it’s the Autumn leaves or crisp mornings, but I find myself in a full on pie baking mood. And you know what? I don’t care to fight it. So today, I thought I’d share one of my all time favorite pies: Chocolate Chip.
I have Dave’s mom to thank for the introduction to this slice of heaven. It changed my life. No exaggeration. It’s basically a big ol’ chocolate chip cookie nestled in a pie crust. People, it’s a pie crust hugging cookie. Tell me that doesn’t sound delicious. While some prefer this pie served cold, I go for warm and melty. And I say, if you want to put a scoop of vanilla on top, you go right on with your bad self. I’m a lover, not a judger.
I asked Dave’s mom for the recipe to post here, and bless her, she delivered. Because a pie this good deserves to be shared. Enjoy.
Chocolate Chip Pie
1 unbaked pie crust
2 eggs
1/2 cup unsifted flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 stick butter, melted and cooled (but not set)
6 ounces chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325. Beat eggs until foamy. Beat in flour and sugars until well blended. Beat in melted butter. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
