Dating

This weekend Dave and I had a day long date. I know! It’s crazy! We ate breakfast together, toured a new brewery, went to the art museum and played “what would we hang in the house?”. We ended the day with ice cream from a shop where they filmed an episode of Veep.

What painting won the what we’d hang in the house game? I was intrigued by the story behind Marie Laurencin’s Group of Artists, Dave considered a Gauguin, but when we turned the corner and saw The Circus, we knew. It was the one.

    My husband and I started an annual tradition last year when our youngest started school full day, The first month of the new school year we pick a weekday and spend the day just the two of us. Not school activities, no volunteering, no kid talk. Its glorious and I can’t wait for this year’s date!
