DIY Mini Witch Hat

by , posted on October 3rd, 2012 in Arts & Crafts, Halloween, Parties & Celebrations

This month, throw a Halloween party that’s mini in design, yet colossal size in fun. Yesterday I showed you how to make a mini Halloween bunting, now let’s make some mini witches hats.

You’ll need:
black cardstock
glue
paper clips
craft knife
scissors
glue brush or paintbrush
black glitter

Step 1
Cut out a rounded cone shape. It should be about 1.5 inches tall and roughly 2.25 inches across. Then cut out a circle with a 2 inch diameter. If you’re making more than one, use the first one as a pattern for the rest.

Step 2
Roll your cone, apply glue in a strip and fasten it with a paperclip to dry.

Step 3
Apply glue to cone opening and attach it to brim. Let dry.

Step 4
Once the hat is dry, flip it over and cut out an asterisk shape into the brim where the cone is attached to create an opening. Push the asterisk inside the hat.

Step 5
Glue and glitter the heck out of that hat.
