Floating Tic Tac Toe Board

floating tic tac toe board for bath or pool

One of the reasons I love summer is because it often involves water, in our case lots of time spent by the pool. Water makes just about everything more fun. For example: tic tac toe is pretty fun, but floating tic tac toe is super fun! Stand in the shallow end, sit on the steps, grab a friend, and pass the time with this splash happy version of a childhood classic.

Making your own floating board game is easy!

You’ll need:

supplies

craft foam sheets
empty plastic bottles/pool noodle pieces/pipe insulation
hot glue gun
scissors

Step 1
If using pool noodles or pipe insulation cut it down to fit under your foam sheet. (I’ve found a serrated knife works best.)

Step 2
Hot glue your pieces/bottles to your foam sheet. Simply run a stripe lengthwise down your bottle and stick it to the foam. Repeat until you have support under your whole sheet.

Step 3
My foam sheets where a little thin so I added another layer of foam with hot glue.

Step 4
Make your board: cut four strips of foam and glue them onto the top foam sheet in a hashtag shape.

Step 5
Make your pieces: cut out about 5 X’s and 5 O’s.

Step 6
Hop in the water and have fun! Water helps the foam pieces stick to the board so don’t be afraid to get it wet!

Carla, this is so clever! My son still likes to take ‘fun baths’ (which basically means he just likes to play in the tub with his lego boats and other toys).

I can see this being a massive hit with water loving kids!
