Fourth of July Activities That’ll Please the Crowd

Planning a Fourth of July picnic or party? Have a bunch of kids on the invite list? Wondering what to do with them all?
Well, I went through the Classic Play! archives and pulled out some activities I’d break out if we were having a big ol’ shingdig. Now, they may not scream traditional 4th of July per se, but they sure are fun (and inexpensive for crowds). Just add a mini flag or a drop or two of red, white and blue and you’ll have some good old fashioned Americana fun:
And if you have a copy of the Outdoor Issue of Anorak, crack it open and you’ll find my Flag making activity and instructions for how to play Capture the Flag. Now really, what’s more American than that, right? If you don’t have a copy, head on over to your local Borders or Barnes & Noble and pick one up today. It’s chock full of goodness.
Happy Fourth of July America!
