Happy Friday!

because, hey? why not.

because, hey? why not.

Well hello there Friday. Is it just me, or have you too noticed I’m down to posting once a week here on the blog. I should really try to work on that.

So any big weekend plans? I have a ton of projects that need to be completed. This is what comes of waiting until the last minute to do everything, which, is another thing I should really try to work on.

But, I think we both know, I’m not really going to work on that second one.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Here are some things that caught my eye this week…

Man, this woman can write Here’s just a taste from the post because I couldn’t help myself: I get moody. Tired. Sad. Irrational. My kids pick up on all of this and it leaves them puzzled, until I take them aside and tell them a secret, one I desperately long to believe myself – mommies are only human.

If grammar lessons had been this entertaining in school, I probably would have mastered semi colon usage

These tricked out trick-or-treat cookies are nothing short of genius

To help a shy child, listen (high five to Joyce for the illustration)

My friend Andrea is selling her art work at Station North this weekend. She makes the most amazing prints! You should swing by

For those feeling crafty this weekend

Because I’m a geek who spent an afternoon figuring out which one my kids were (an afternoon I probably should have spent working on those projects so I didn’t have to do them all this weekend… ahem)

And here are some things I wrote elsewhere…
The Language of Thank You Cards
Milk Carton Luminaries

    Love the mask!!!!

And the article on shy kids is fantastic. Lizzie is shy. Not once she warms up to people but when she meets people initially and I’ve found that shy kids (and adults) are so misunderstood. Great article! And of course Joyce’s illustrations are perfect.

You’re so right—they are often misunderstood. Lizzie is an incredible kid!

And I think we may have talked about this in the past, but I struggle with shyness myself, although I’m pretty sure mine has to do more with self esteem issues. We all got something though, right?
