Snow Day

by , posted on February 5th, 2010 in Ideas and Inspiration

It appears that we, here in the mid-Atlantic region, are about to be walloped by a snow storm. The media outlets have been talking about it for a couple days now. So yesterday I prepared. I went out to stock up on a few essentials: art supplies, popcorn and milk for hot cocoa. Oh, and let’s not forget marshmallows. These items are a must in any snowstorm kit. At least, in my opinion anyway.

Tonight we plan to gather with a group of friends as the snow falls. I am curious to hear what everyone looks forward to most about being snowed in: board games, movies, art projects, making pots of hot cocoa, all of the above if you’re like me.

We’re not often given opportunities to slow down. So even though it may be cold and snowy, I am going to warmly embrace this one.

That is the most delicious looking cup of cocoa – EVER! It’s raining here – does that count??

That beautiful cup of whip topped cocoa almost makes me long for a snow day. Almost.

Cheryl, I say a cup o’ cocoa is perfect for any day. Well, almost any day. I don’t think I’ll be longing for cocoa in August.

Lori-Anne, you don’t have snow right now?

    Caroline, great list!

OK, now that we are about 6 inches into our storm, I wish I had added M&M’s & magazines to my grocery list!

Many’s a brown winter in these parts, despite Canada’s reputation. Have you heard? They have to truck in snow for the Winter Olympics, in Vancouver, about 4 hours from where I live!

Lori-Anne, I just saw that on the news today! You can have some of ours. We’re getting hit with another blizzard tonight. It’s two blizzards in one week. It’s never happened before.
