It’s a crisp fall day and two friends embark on a scavenger hunt. Bags are packed with disposable cameras, drinks, snacks, and a list of things to capture on film. Suddenly your average Saturday morning isn’t average any more.
To plan your own scavenger hunt choose items local to your area. Load the list with objects that the kids can find easily while making sure you have a few chance items as well. Things that are likely to be on your route but not guaranteed. Since we were in the city, our list was filled with things like statues, flowers, a fire hydrant, and those aforementioned chance items as well—a dog and a red car.
Once you have the list, distribute it along with a disposable camera and let the kids have fun. Later, after the pictures are developed, put the captured images in an album as a souvenir from the day.
