This weekend, Dave and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a spur of the moment trip to New York City. We walked, dined, and attended a workshop about filmmaking. Attending a workshop on one’s anniversary? Nerdy? Probably. Us? Very. We are that couple. We might as well just own it. Ha!
While we there, we strolled through Tribeca. I found Moomah and got all excited running across the street, only to discovered it was closed. Bummer. We also spent time wandering SoHo eating chocolates, looking in gallery windows and checking out unusual stores.
It was so nice to connect as a couple and be silly, spontaneous and do something for ourselves. Especially, after Dave spent so much time last month traveling. I can only imagine the frequent flyer miles that man has accrued.
Twelve years later we’re a little wiser, a little grayer and still pretty crazy about each other.
As impressive as 12 years is, we’ll actually have been together for 20 in August. TWENTY! It kind of blows my mind. Now that is a milestone.
PS. A HUGE thanks to my mom + dad who not only took the kids this weekend on two hours notice, but also watched our doggie. Dave and I are going to owe some pretty sweet Mother’s Day gifts to our moms this year.
PS2. I apologize for all the me photos. It’s just that when you’re married to a photographer, well, he’ll take a lot of pictures of you.
PS3. Dave just told me that the his flights were all booked on different airlines. Two of them, are ones he’ll probably never fly again. [expletive!] I was hoping to get a trip to London out of it. Bah.
