Winter Carnival

School closed? Stuck indoors? Kids driving you batty? Have them create their own Winter Carnival.

Start with offering the kids paper, crayons and scissors. They can use them to make signs, flyers, tickets and whatever else they think they’ll need for their carnival.

Note: We happened to have tickets left over from our carnival party. I think I found them at a big box store for very little cost. They have been used over and over again. I’d say it’s worth picking up a roll if you happen across one.

Encourage kids to generate their own list of games and activities. I try to stay out of the brainstorming process as much as possible. Basically, I only give one rule: whatever mess you make, you’ll need to clean up afterward.

Then, let ‘em play!
